moving millions in pride

EuroPride 2014 goes to Oslo, Norway

EuroPride 2014 goes to Oslo, Norway.
The EPOA Annual General Meeting (AGM) decided to give the license for hosting EuroPride in 2014 to Oslo, and the member organisation Oslo Pride. The decision to give Oslo Pride the license was based on the presentation of the suggested event, a presentation with great diversity and bid with great support from local, regional and national institutions. We are confident that the good example and best practice of Norway ‘s legislation and society can lead other countries in Europe forward.

The AGM was held in Brussels as a start of the international conference and the AGM for InterPride. Having these events together for the first time created a unique platform for exchange of knowledge for Pride events from all over the world.

- Oslo handed in and presented a very strong bid for the license, and we are very happy that Oslo was given the event. We are happy to bring EuroPride back to Oslo and glad to see they are planning a bigger and better event than ever. It will be a great opportunity for all Europeans to get new perspectives on Scandinavia, says Hans De Meyer, President of EPOA.

- EuroPride 2014 is going to be the biggest LGBT-event ever in the history of Norway. It will have a great impact on each and every on participating and a event to show the different aspects of lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender rights in Norway 2014. Pride is visibility and visibility is politics!, says Helle Christin Nyhuus, President of Oslo Pride.

The EPOA Board and members confirm their trust and confidence in the project of LGP Marseille and address the French LGBTQI community, stakeholders and the French institutions to support it, in making EuroPride 2013 a great event.
